Repercussions

Now for something completely different:

I recently met up with a former coworker in order to help him move some furniture from one side of town to the other.

"Winter"
While having a beer, he showed me the finished product of many a carpool conversation that we had on the 30 miles south to Waterbury from Burlington and back again: a limited edition, hand bound, 14 page book of his poetry. 10 poems are included in the edition from Tim Barcomb & Plowboy Press. The poetry itself is reminiscent of William Carlos Williams, draped in the Imagist diction.

"Winter," being my favorite, is featured above.

Update: For another review of Tim Barcomb's book of poetry, check out the Kingdom Books blog which is written by Beth Kanell and her husband Dave, owners of a Fine Press bookstore in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. You'll find the review here.

Le Freeski Jam

Last weekend I made my way North, way North to the town of Lac Beauport for the Acrobatix Le Freeski Jam sponsored by DStructure. Surrounded by francophones, poutine and an appreciation of Celine Dion, I watched pro and amateur skiers hit the water ramps for the day.

Hey, I've been there!

While checking out a friend's blog & artwork here, I stumbled upon this video of a flash mob's tribute to Michael Jackson. While not a fan of him or his music, this is still pretty impressive. That, and it's fun to recognize a place you've been to in a foreign country.

Sun in the Northeast.

the corner of mass ave & beacon. sort of.

The Northeast did not have much of a Spring and by the looks of the current weather patterns, not much of a Summer either with the amount of rain. However, the past holiday weekend presented a lapse in the downpour and while I was relaxing on a favorite "perch" of mine, I took this photo.

Enjoy.
